GET YOUR FEATHERS READY was recorded and engineered by Stew Kirkwood in Maskwacis, Alberta, Canada with additional recording by Lucas McKinnon. This is a blend of Powwow and Blues like you've never heard before. Recording and performing with Northern Cree was one of the most thrilling and profound musical experiences of our lives. What an honour to experience their prowess and supreme style.
We will be frank....creating a new album is not cheap so we're launching this pre-order campaign seeking your support.

A new collaboration with Northern Cree x Blue Moon Marquee
Their collab album dropped October 24th, and is inspired by the influence of Indigenous peoples on North American music
For some time now we have been very inspired by the Indigenous influence on modern North American music. We were so moved by the brilliant documentary ‘Rumble-The Indians Who Rocked the World’. Particularly the part where Pura Fe is singing along to Charlie Patton.
Al (A.W. Cardinal) had always heard this connection in his mind throughout the years… especially within Cree rhythms and melodies woven with early folk and blues. His bloodline is Woodland Cree from Northern Alberta.
Last year the dream finally came together and we recorded with the extraordinary Northern Cree, also known as the Northern Cree Singers, a powwow and Round Dance drum and singing group based in Maskwacis, Alberta, Canada. The result is a blending of country blues and folk blues with Powwow drumming and singing.
Stew Kirkwood captured the sounds. The experience was so profound and magnificent. We performed some of these songs for the first time out in the wild with Northern Cree for the JUNO Awards in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
